ABOUT ROAR.
Supplier and installer of stoves, fires & fireplaces.
We are a family-run, independent fireplace specialist business, with a display showroom and small fitting team based between Derby and Ashbourne.
We are passionate about fire but also we’re all quite fond of a hot cuppa too!
The design possibilities of fireplaces are endless and creativity is at the heart of what we do.
Feeling fire-inspired?
We supply and install a range of high efficiency gas, electric, multi-fuel and wood burning stoves and fires across several UK and European brands. We also source fireplace surrounds, beams, hearths, wall mounted decorative heatshields and tiles for fireplaces, enjoying working with local suppliers and stone masons.
We’d love to hear how we can help with your fireplace project. It’s never to early to get us involved in the process – whether directly, if you’re more of a DIY-er, or with your architects, interior designers and/or builders if you like to be a bit more hands-off.
Who are we?
We are friendly and approachable, priding ourselves on our attention to detail. Focussed on the quality of our products and workmanship, we aim to use our industry experience and expertise to deliver our very best customer service.
Lee and James are Gas Safe and HETAS registered engineers who have been working alongside each other fitting fires and fireplaces on behalf of various showrooms and independently around the Midlands since 2007.
Recognising an opportunity to source and supply our own products as well as installing them, we opened the showroom in 2018, with a range of carefully selected brands. Lee’s partner Jen joined the ROAR team in 2020 to support the commercial side of the business.
Lee surveys and project manages all the work but isn’t afraid of heights or hard work. He likes to admire the rooftop views across Derbyshire (whilst dropping flue liners)!

How we work with you.
Every project is unique as everybody’s circumstances are different and this is reflected in our service. We don’t believe in a one size fits all approach.
We work directly with customers on their own, rented or holiday homes, but also engage with interior designers, builders, landlords and developers.
Some customers simply want to install a new more efficient fire to upgrade their existing fireplace or approach us with a clear idea of what products or materials they wish to use. Others require our full assistance to research and offer suggestions of what might work best in their particular home environment, suiting their needs for functionality and style. We can also help with technical advice on heat output suitable for room size and cosy-ness preference!
When you contact us we will ask for your key project ideas along with your name(s), contact information and address details.
Typically the very first stage in our process, we always recommend a site survey to establish exactly what is required, narrow down the product options according to budget and avoid any disappointments later down the line. It helps us to form our detailed scope of works and firm up a quotation.
How We Work With You.
Often we need to take into consideration specific conditions customers have to work with in the first place, such as smoke control areas, chimney construction and size, or roof access and height. These factors might restrict the type or size of appliance, the flue system or the fireplace materials used. If working in a conservation area we may suggest that you check with the planners first too.
We welcome showroom visits by appointment for those customers who want to get a feel for the quality of the brands we have on offer and see some of the stoves on display live in action. A showroom visit is really useful for those who are undecided about what products to go for.
To ensure quality, consistency of workmanship and value for money we carry out all of the work ourselves. Although it’s often a messy job, we like to leave our site as tidy as we found it. We ask all customers to clear the work area of furniture, breakables, children and pets before we visit.
Once installed, we provide a full demonstration at the handover stage. This is a great opportunity for our customers to ask any questions about maintenance, fuel types and how to achieve the optimum performance from an appliance.
Annually, we offer all customers an after care service which may include gas appliance servicing & maintenance or HETAS servicing and sweeping service for wood and solid fuel installations.
