The 556 Style from the Contura 500 series features a lot in a compact format with a large glass window area in the door and an efficient firebox. The generous side lights mean that you can see the fire from different angles in the room. The large front and side glass panels spread the light and heat around the room. The integrated handles in the front of the stove are designed to be cool-to-touch and do not get hot. A practical compartment under the stove keeps logs, gloves and matches in order. Adjustable feet ensure the stove is level on uneven floors.
In the rear of the stove there is an extra duct system for spreading preheated combustion air. The system is called Clean Burning and is activated by sliding the control on the front to the left. The stove burns efficiently and for long periods resulting in a combustion with very low particle concentrations.
An ingenious Automatic Start Function automatically controls the lighting air through the grate. It means that the door can be shut at the same time that the start-up fire is lit and the stove therefore becomes completely independent of room air. Which means it feels safer not having to leave the stove with an open door during the start-up fire.
With the Refuelling Boost Function you can ”save” embers that have nearly died. You just open the handle on the left, new oxygen flows in from below and brings out the embers so that the new wood catches light. After a short time you can once again enjoy a beautiful fire and heating.
Thanks to its design and damping function, Contura’s new Silent Sliding Ashtray slides quietly and softly during emptying.
The C556 Style is available in a choice of black or grey exterior, with a painted, glass or soapstone top.
The alternative Contura 556G Style model gives the C556 a modern facelift with a tough glass door. The 556G is available in a white exterior, with a glass or cast iron top or black exterior, with cast iron, glass or soapstone top.
Additional C556G options include a thermostat-controlled fan which distributes the heat quickly and provides a more even temperature. The fan starts when the fire is lit and stops when the fire has gone out. Easy to install and can also be retrofitted.
The C556G Style may also be fitted with a Contura Hotplate for using the stove to heat up food and drinks or a matching soft-closing door, to store logs, matches and protective gloves behind.
The optional Contura Turntable provides stepless rotation through 360 degrees. The turning angle and the speed of rotation are adjustable.
Contura Floor protection is available in black or grey sheet metal or transparent, toughened glass. In addition to being attractive and protecting the floor they are easy to remove for cleaning.
A Contura Outdoor air inlet ensures the stove can be connected to outdoor air. Connecting the stove to outdoor air means that the firebox will receive cool, oxygen rich outdoor air to give more efficient combustion.
